We’re delighted to announce that Sean has been named as a finalists of the QEST x Sanderson Rising Star Award, with the winner to be announced at a ceremony in the Sanderson Headquarters in Chiswick, London, on the 8th October.
The award ‘now in its second edition, the biennial £25,000 award celebrates early-to-mid career makers in the UK who demonstrate exceptional skill, dedication to their discipline, and a meaningful contribution to the wider craft sector. Following a rigorous nomination process that closed in June, the finalist makers represent the pinnacle of emerging creative British talent.’
Along with five other finalists, the previous round saw us attend an interview with the judging panel at Voysey House, Sanderson’s historic headquarters in London. The panel features industry leaders including Lisa Montague (CEO of Sanderson Design Group and QEST Chair), Deborah Pocock LVO (QEST CEO), Debika Ray (Journalist and QEST Ambassador), Ruth Sleightholme (Style Director at The World of Interiors), Hugo Macdonald (Co-founder of Bard and design critic at Wallpaper), and Hanny Newton, recipient of the inaugural 2024 award.
